Fernox Central Heating Protector F1 Express (400 ml) is a fast-acting corrosion inhibitor designed to protect central heating systems from rust, corrosion, and scale formation. It conditions the water quickly, helping to safeguard the boiler, radiators, and pipework even when added shortly before system commissioning or during maintenance.
This inhibitor works by forming a protective chemical layer on the metal surfaces inside a central heating system. By preventing corrosion and reducing the formation of scale, it helps maintain efficient heat transfer and prolongs the life of key components such as the boiler heat exchanger and circulation pump. The Express formulation means it starts working faster than standard inhibitors, making it useful when a rapid treatment is needed.
F1 Express is suitable for use in sealed central heating systems, including combi, system, and conventional boilers common in domestic installations. It is formulated to be compatible with metals typically found in central heating circuits, such as steel, copper, and aluminium.
The 400 ml bottle is added to the system via an access point such as the filling loop or magnetic filter connection. Once introduced, the inhibitor disperses throughout the system as the heating circulates, quickly establishing corrosion protection. It can be used as part of routine maintenance or added when a system is being commissioned, flushed, or refilled.
Using Fernox F1 Express helps:
Maintain cleaner system water by minimising corrosion products
Improve heat transfer efficiency
Reduce the risk of boiler and pump wear caused by corrosion debris
Support quieter pump and radiator operation
Provide rapid protection when there is limited time before heating commissioning
This product is ideal for heating engineers, service technicians, and homeowners who want quick-acting corrosion protection—for example, after a system clean, during a boiler upgrade, or just before winter use. It’s particularly beneficial when normal inhibitor dosing hasn’t been previously applied and rapid conditioning of the system water is required.
Always follow the manufacturer’s dosing instructions based on system size. After adding the inhibitor, allow the system to circulate normally to ensure effective distribution. For long-term protection it may be combined with routine maintenance practices such as filter installation and periodic testing of inhibitor levels.
