Fernox Protector F1 (265 ml) is a corrosion-inhibiting additive formulated for use in central heating systems. It helps protect metal components from rust, corrosion, and limescale formation, supporting efficient heat transfer and longer system life.

Function & Purpose

When added to the water in a sealed central heating system, Protector F1 forms a protective chemical layer on internal metal surfaces such as the boiler heat exchanger, radiators, pipework, and pump. This coating helps reduce the breakdown of metal due to corrosion and slows the development of mineral scale, which can impair circulation and heat transfer. The result is smoother operation, better efficiency, and reduced risk of faults related to corrosion and debris.

Compatibility

This product is suitable for sealed central heating systems, including combi, system, and conventional boilers. It is formulated to be compatible with typical metals found in heating circuits—such as steel, copper, and aluminium—when used according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

How It Works

The 265 ml bottle is dosed into the system via an appropriate access point, such as the filling loop, boiler service valve, or a magnetic filter connection after the system has been flushed. Once introduced, the inhibitor disperses throughout the system as the heating circulates, helping to condition the water and protect internal components from corrosive attack over time.

Key Benefits

Using Fernox Protector F1 helps:

Maintain cleaner system water by slowing corrosion
Improve heat transfer and circulation efficiency
Reduce the risk of boiler and pump wear caused by debris and rust products
Help minimise cold spots in radiators caused by blockages
Support quieter operation and longer component life

Ideal Applications

This inhibitor is ideal for heating engineers, service technicians, and homeowners looking to protect a central heating system against corrosion and scale. It is commonly used:

When commissioning a new system
After flushing and cleaning a system
During routine annual maintenance
When upgrading or replacing boiler components

Usage Note

Always follow Fernox dosing guidelines based on the total water volume of the heating system. After adding Protector F1, allow the system to circulate normally to ensure thorough distribution of the protective chemistry throughout the system. Regular testing and maintenance help sustain effective long-term protection.
